
Diagnosed with retinal cancer, Ivonne lost her sight when she was two years old. That didn’t stop her from living life to its fullest. She is a renowned world class triathlete and runner, and a Project Manager with The Dow Chemical Company.
Among her accomplishments, Ivonne has won the female visually impaired division at the Boston marathon three times, has been the Visually impaired National 5K Champion in the U.S., and has earned Gold and Silver medals at the Paratriathlon World Championships in 2009 and 2010. In June of 2012, she competed in the Paralympics Track and Field Trials, and holds the US record in the 1500 meter distance for Totally Blind Women. Ivonne works to bridge the disabled and able-bodied communities together, all across the world, through athletics. She constantly draws on her experiences in business, in government, and in the nonprofit sector, to reach as many individuals as possible.
